Home remedy for Head Lices

Believe me, you'll want to share and save this one - especially if you're a parent! Head lice become a continual problem this time of year if you don't treat it quickly!

Lice can quickly invade your home and head when left unchecked. Over-the-counter remedies are often full of chemicals and harsh on your hair. Home lice remedies are an effective way to kill lice and get them out of your hair.

Coconut oil + apple cider vinegar. Coconut oil dissolves the lice's outer skeletal shell instantly. Apply that thoroughly to hair, and then rinse with vinegar. No nasty chemicals! Add a second rinse with vinegar, and comb through again with a nit comb, and discard any eggs that you see. Repeat as necessary, and this is safe enough to use for your other members of the household who haven't yet shown signs of the little critters!

 Listerine
Home lice remedies include dousing your head with a bottle of Listerine mouthwash, which contains alcohol. Lice do not like this product, and it kills them quickly. Pour the mouthwash over your head, and then put a plastic shower cap on for a few hours. You can put a towel on top of the plastic cap to help soak up any leaking liquid. Comb out your hair after two hours, making sure to pull any eggs off that you see.

Home remedies for lice are a natural way to kill head lice. You need to repeat these methods every few days for up to 12 days to ensure that you catch all the lice present. Make sure to wash your bedding, pillows and other household items thoroughly to exterminate any nits that are still present.
